What is Knoppicillin?

It is a Knoppix based recovery CD. It is maintained and published by heise.de, publisher of the German PC magazine c't.

This ISO was published with c't 26 (2008).

Knoppicillin is bootable and contains three virus scanners:

- Avira AntiVir 2.1.12-19
- BitDefender 7.60825
- Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7.20

You can update the virus signatures over the internet to have a current virus scanner available.



It also contains (as it is Linux based)

- Iceweasel/Firefox 3.0.3
- Xorg 7.3 and IceWM 1.2.35
- MidnightCommander 4.6.2
- MyBashBurn 1.0.2
- vsftpd 2.0.6

I use Knoppicillin often when a PC of a friend has a virus problem to fix it when the virus files are in use and therefore locked.

It's like a swiss army knife for trouble shooting.
